Empathy, compassion and unconditional positive regard is what you will find when you make the, sometimes difficult, choice to call.

Call or message me today. I would be honored to be a part of your journey to emotional health, happiness and overall life balance.

I am a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), a MCAP (Masters Certified Addiction Professional) and a CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional). I have over 7 years of experience working with individuals, families, couples, children and adolescents in school, agency and private practice settings.

I’ve spent over 8 years working in both public and private school settings as a teacher and guidance counselor while continuing my education to earn a degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I then spent 2 years as a Family Program Coordinator and Primary Therapist at an inpatient addictions treatment facility. For the past five and a half years I have spent in private practice working with individuals, couples, families and adolescents dealing with various mental health issues.

My passion is to guide individuals, couples, and adolescents, from all walks of life, to achieve emotional health, happiness, and overall life balance. I am holistic in my approach utilizing different therapeutic interventions to best meet the individual needs of each client that I work with. Every client will experience compassion, empathy, active listening and unconditional positive regard with every session.

A 50 minute therapy session fee is $150. Please contact me if you are in need of a sliding scale fee option.

Julie Meddaugh, MSED, RMHCI

As a counselor, I do not rely on one type of therapy because everyone is unique. I offer an adaptive approach that dabbles in many theories to tailor a therapy plan as unique as the individual. Everyone has their own life to live, and they are the ones to decide on how that life is to be lived. Let me help you explore those possibilities and discover the life you want and deserve.

After earning my Master’s in Education with a focus on Special Education, I primarily worked as an elementary and special education teacher, where I taught students up to 8th grade for over twelve years. While serving all the students I was responsible for, I saw a need to become my students’ advocate for services and educational needs, but experienced that some needed more than what I could provide for them in school.

Services for mental health needs of students and parents alike were not considered by the systems where I taught and at many times, very difficult to find. When my husband and I decided to homeschool our daughter at the age of 13 years old, I took that time to focus on her educational and emotional needs and began exploring what I would like to do when she went to college. After much thought, I decided that earning a Master’s in Education for Mental Health Counseling was the direction I wanted to go in due to my desire to help others. I am passionate about understanding others and exploring ways that can be helpful to them.

When people are unable to perform or are unhappy at their jobs or school, or struggle to get along with others at home, there needs to be understanding and interventions to apply and redirect- that’s where I come in.

Life is an adventure. All of us are challenged on our journey. Sometimes we need some help considering where we’re at and where we’re going. I offer an effective and collaborative therapeutic environment based on trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I hold your personal stories with respect and compassion for the struggles, grief, and pain experienced. When life is out of balance or mental health concerns get in the way, counseling can be a life-line.

I am passionate about helping others. As a mental health counselor, I will help you understand and learn about what is going on and develop a plan to address it. I have been serving and helping others for 30 years through parent and family education, spiritual formation, pastoral counseling, spiritual care education, and now counseling through private practice. I have a wealth of experience for understanding people, life challenges, and the healing path. Congratulations on taking a first step in exploring counseling and therapy options!
